As investigators uncover new details in the case of Tupac Shakur’s 1996 murder, a Las Vegas District Court Judge has pushed back the trial for Duane Keith “Keefe D” Davis.
According to Complex, the court pushed the trial to August 10, 2026, giving the defense team another six months to review the large amount of new evidence that has been found in recent months. As Complex reported, attorney Robert Draskovich called the new information “voluminous.”
Keefe D is accused of orchestrating Tupac’s murder
Keefe D, who has been held in the Clark County Detention Center since 2023, has been accused of orchestrating Tupac’s murder. Earlier this year, however, Keefe D defended himself when he did an interview with The Art of Dialogue podcast.
“They ain’t got no evidence. They don’t got nothing. They know they don’t have nothing,” Keefe D said in the interview, according to Complex. “They can’t even place me out here [at the time of the shooting]. They don’t have no gun, no car, no Keefe D, no nothing. Everybody on video but Keefe D. This is wrong, man.”
Keefe D has told inconsistent stories about Tupac’s murder
Keefe D said in the interview that he was making changes after facing legal troubles earlier in his life, but he now finds himself incarcerated.
“I did everything they asked me to do. Get new friends, stop selling drugs. I stopped all that,” he said in his The Art of Dialogue interview, according to Vibe. “I thought I was gonna do college with my grandkids. They’re pretty good athletes.”
Keefe D, who’s a former Compton gang member, added that he now regrets the comments he previously made about Tupac’s murder.
“I shouldn’t have said nothing. I shouldn’t have said nothing,” he said. “And I’m innocent, man. And God got my back and God will see me through this.”
According to WBLS, Keefe D has been telling inconsistent stories about Tupac’s murder through the years — sometimes saying he was at the scene and other times denying that he was ever there.
