In the WWE’s ever-evolving women’s division, its talent is as diverse as its roster. One of the company’s budding superstars is Lash Legend. Getting started in the company’s developmental system, NXT in 2021, Legend grabbed our eyes with her stature alone.
A former collegiate basketball forward at Texas A&M and Mississippi State, standing at 5’11” and not lanky in the slightest, she has the build of a star. She holds the single-game record for rebounds in NCAA tournament history at 27. Also, at Texas A&M, Legend is the first player to grab 1,000 rebounds in her time there. The future main eventer was a beast on the boards in her day.
She doesn’t look like she can be pushed around, and that’s one of the most essential attributes of being a pro-wrestler. Having an imposing look just enhances the believability of what’s going on in the ring.
Lashing out
I first came across Legend when she had a talk show segment on NXT. It was called “Lashing Out,” and it really showcased her charm. She was a natural in front of the camera. So many times, one of the biggest hurdles a pro wrestler has to overcome is getting people to come to the building. How do you engage an audience? Why should we care about anything that you have going on? That comes with character development and just natural chops. So, I just knew that this woman with the “It” factor would eventually blossom into a main roster superstar.
A vote of confidence
You now have to look no further than the fall of 2025. Right now, with Legend’s first premium live event debut, she took part in Survivor Series. Survivor Series is the second-longest-established show on the WWE’s calendar. No other live event has run longer than it has, besides WrestleMania. On this occasion, it was also the largest attended, emanating from Petco Field in San Diego. Over 40,000 WWE fans blew the imaginary roof off for the Women’s War Games match. You can tell WWE wants to make Legend a big deal because she was the final entrant of her team in that match. With the spotlight on her, she shone!
Easy does it
Moments like the one above, as she squared off with the likes of Rhea Ripley, showcase that she can hang with the best of them. Her technique is crisp and snug. You can tell that above all else, she is enjoying all of this. She wants, in fact, to be a legend. And she’s well on her way with how diligently she has approached the art form that is pro-wrestling. At this point, at least to me, her success hinges on her health and her reps. The women’s division will only be enhanced by her presence. Just imagine how much she’s getting started and already has the audience’s respect.
The WWE has struck gold again in its women’s division. It’s a testament to the training grounds that NXT is, and it’s a testament to the success you achieve when you lean into creating a diverse roster. There’s simply talent all over, and it’s lovely to see deserving talent get a fair shake. So, between now and Legend’s first Wrestlemania match, yours truly will be lashing out.
